I don't think Jack Doohan was ever given enough time to flourish and to show what he was capable of. There were a few mistakes, but Franco Colanpinto has had more experience, being in the Williams last season. So, if you take that into , no, Colapinto is not doing a better job than what Jack had done.

It's not been the best day for Franco, especially at Turn Two. He's not the biggest fan of it.

George Russell remains at the top of the leaderboard in Canada. His lap time is 1:12.123.

His Mercedes team-mate Kimi Antonelli is down to 12th spot.

Fellow rookie Franco Colapinto is 17th, he had a little spin earlier, similar to first practice - it's not been a good day for him today.

More on the new McLaren front suspension that has been brought to Canada this weekend. It has been developed in the hope of resolving the ‘numb’ front-end feeling both drivers have complained of this season, but which appears to have affected Lando Norris more than Oscar Piastri. It’s considered fundamental research to help both drivers with the best possible , and is available to both should they want to use it. It remains to be seen whether either will adopt it for the rest of the weekend after Friday.

A big mistake from Charles Leclerc [in first practice] with big consequences. Missing FP2 is a really big blow. They'll want to get as much data as possible with only having one car on track. Hopefully Ferrari can get it sorted before tomorrow, but who knows. It could be a big job.
